My Diet Jurnal - 21/11/2007

It has already been two days since I started on my Atkins Diet. After researching a few websites on diet and watching a documentary on National Geographic few months ago, I decided to give it try. After two days, I have lost about 1.0kg. Quite impressive huh..That gives me more strength to keep on dieting.

To follow on this diet, I have to undergo 4 phases of nutritional approach. I am now in my Induction phase. I personally think it is very useful to write a list of everything we have eaten in one day if we are following a very strict diet. I have to keep my carbohydrate intake at 20g only per day. As for yesterday, here is the list of food I ate.


1 piece Sausage (6g)
1 piece Chicken breast (0g)
I cup Coffee (0.7g)
4 slice Fish cracker (5g)
1 cup Tea (1g)
1/4 Guava (3g)
1 can Chili Tuna (8g)
1 can Diet coke (0g)
Total Carb 23.7g

My carb intake yesterday is a little over than 20g but I am not that frustrated. I think I did great. What I miss the most is my snacks. I am a person that needs snacking all the time. I have to chew on something. I wonder what can I eat for a low carb snacking. Any suggestion? I also started to miss my rice already. Being Asian, we are quite dependent on rice. Not eating rice in one day is a big deal for us. Need to hold that craving for another 13 days.

I also broke the rules of Induction yesterday, I ate 1/4 of a guava. I can't hold it..I had to eat some fruit. Fruits are not allowed during Induction because it contained sugar that would be converted into starch, that will halt your weight lost. Therefore, I chose a fruit with the least sugar in it...guava.

That's the update on my diet yesterday. I will update more tomorrow with my today's food list and my weight.
